Using the keyboard

It is important for people who can't use a mouse to be able to surf the site in other ways. To simplify keyboard navigation, press "Tab" to select the required link and then press "enter" to access the chosen page. We have also set up some "key combinations" to allow you to get around the main sections of the site

How to use the key combinations

  • Press "Alt"
  • At the same time press the number or letter shown below
  • Press "Enter" and the browser will automatically display the chosen page.

List of letters

  • H - "Home" returns to the home page
  • S - "Snaidero"
  • C - "Catalogue"
  • P - "Getting started"
  • R - "Retailers"
  • N - "News"
  • A - "Help" this is the page you are looking at now
  • Z - is the hidden "skip navigation" link

List of numbers

  • 3 - small characters
  • 4 - medium characters
  • 5 - large characters
  • 6 - contrast
  • 7 - delete contrast

Alternative images and text

Each image on the site is linked to a "brief description" which allows users to understand what it is, even if it is not loaded by the browser, or if the user has a screen reader.

Resizable test and contrast

To make it easier to read the texts, we have introduced a button strip (located in the left-hand part of the screen) which allows users to personalise their view: they can choose between three different character sizes, and can also use the "contrast" option cwhich changes the background and text colours to make reading easier.

Skip navigation

Screen reader users navigate websites linearly, one link at a time, and it can be frustrating having to wait for all the links to be read whenever a page is loaded. For this reason the"skip navigation" link (hidden from users with normal browsers) can be used to immediately access the main page contents.
