Design criteria and solutions for Skyline_lab
This section offers practical advice on designing a Skyline_lab
layout together with technical information on the features of this kitchen, which was mainly designed to overcome the obstacles connected with physical disability.
Trolley
The trolley with swivel wheels and three circular trays is very useful as it holds and moves objects without effort. The middle tray is in plate glass to improve visibility of the lower shelf and all three trays are fitted with retainers in chromed wire to prevent the objects from dropping by accident. When the trolley is not being used it can be positioned under the worktop.
Bin
The bin in stainless steel moves on swivel wheels and holds two bags for sorted waste collection and can be housed under the worktop.
Drainer
The chromed wire drainer can be positioned on the worktop or hung from a chromed steel bar fixed to the backrest. It is fitted with a drip collector to prevent the underlying worktop from getting wet. Alternatively to the drainer in full view, a basket drainer can be positioned in a storage unit next to the worktop.
Rotating plate on worktop
To make it easier to grasp objects on the table (jars, bottles, etc.) a 50 cm diameter rotating plate can be used and positioned on any surface.
Sink accessories
The sink can be fitted with wooden chopping boards, chromed wire grills and strainer baskets for increasing the functionality of the work area.
Normal accessories can be kept on the back panel, in drawers or in the storage unit baskets.
