The prototypes were tested
at the Gervasutta Institute of Physical and Rehabilitative Medicine of Udine
in order to confirm the overall validity of the project. The kitchen was used by people at various stages of the rehabilitation therapy as though it were set in normal home surroundings.
Under the supervision of occupational therapists the advantages of the proposed solution were verified, as were the items requiring to be modified in order to improve functionality.
The tests on the kitchen were also used to measure scientific data on motor functions in the two different categories of disabled people analysed: paraplegics and tetraplegics. This data was used to size the various kitchen components according to the user's level of disability.
